Faith Guitars have launched the Neptune Blue Moon, the latest in their series of celestially-named acoustic guitars.

The guitar sports a few visual flairs, such as Faith’s signature low-angle cutaway, and more notably the deep blue/indigo burst finish, that still displays the mango wood grain. The top, back and sides of the guitar are all mango wood, for a unique look and tone.

Faith Guitars’ Alex Mew saif of the tonewood choice: “We first experimented with an all-mango guitar a couple of years ago, and really liked what we found. It’s quite a bit different in its tonal delivery to the standard Spruce or Cedar topped guitar, so we were conscious that we needed to secure appropriate grade wood with the correct stiffness before deciding on the final body design. Patrick [James Eggle, founder of Faith Guitars] then settled on the stunning blue-burst finish which helps show off the mango’s natural grain variation wonderfully, and which in turn makes each guitar truly unique.”

Mango is not a common tonewood for acoustic guitars, but Faith Guitars says that its tonal palette gives the Blue Moon a “real death in the mid-ranges” as well as strong bass projection. The mango body of the guitar is bound in flamed maple. Driving the electro-acoustic output of the guitar is a Fishman INK3 system.

The Neptune Blue Moon lists for £979.00, which includes a hardcase. More information at faithguitars.com.
