Tom Morello To Release New Album In August

Ex-Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello has announced he will be releasing his third solo album as the Nightwatchman.

The Morello-produced World Wide Rebel Songs is due for release on August 30th via New West Records and features 12 new tracks.

He's also enlisted the help of Ben Harper, who co-wrote lead single Save The Hammer For The Man and contributed vocals and guitar for the track.

Unlike the majority of Morello's work as the Nightwatchman, this album features a full electric band, The Freedom Fight Orchestra; Carl Restivo on guitar and piano, Dave Gibbs on bass, Chris Joyner on keyboards and Eric Gardner behind the kit.

On his website, Morello states,

'Troubled times call out for troubled songs. World Wide Rebel Songs is an album of rousing hopelessness and this time The Nightwatchman has brought along his electric guitar to tip the scales. I wanted to capture a vibe midway between Johnny Cash and Che Guevera, murder ballads and Molotov anthems.'
