The Sunflower Jam
In 2006 Jacky Paice set up an event known as The Sunflower Jam, she is the wife of legendary drummer Ian Paice of Deep Purple and is the mother of three children.
She announced today the formation of a new charity which is to be known as The Sunflower Jam Charity.
The charity will work by supporting initiatives set up to bridge the gap between integrated, functional and conventional medicine with a natural approach to wellness for children, young people, adults and their families with a range of acute and chronic emotional, mental and physical conditions.
To kick start the fundraising a unique legendary event is being launched. The 8 July 2011 will showcase the ultimate ‘Superjam 2011’ a rock ‘n’ roll fundraising evening will take place at the Royal Albert Hall with music legends already confirmed to include Deep Purple’s, Ian Paice, Ian Gillian, Don Airey, Roger Glover, Steve Morse alongside Jon Lord, Joe Bonamassa, Danny Bowes, Rick Wakeman, Newton Faulkner with more legendary names expected to be announced in due course and actor and rock lover Jeremy Irons will act as MC for the evening.
Superjam 2011 will be the charity’s biggest event to date and will help to increase the already raised funds from previous events.
Superjam’s in the past have been on a smaller scale, Jeremy Irons has acted as MC and have includedguest performances by world famous artists Status Quo, Paul Weller, Robert Plant, Ray Cooper, Bruce Dickinson, Suggs and the late great Gary Moore.
The Super Jam Charity Founder Jacky Paice says, "This is the largest event ever undertaken by The Sunflower Jam charity and we hope the 8th July 2011 will be a sell-out success attracting guests from all over the world.
The event will be used to raise awareness of the newly created charity with all monies raised going directly into a range of agreed projects.
More artists will be announced over the coming weeks so watch this space for more details www.thesunflowerjam.com."
Jon Lord of Deep Purple is one of the trustees and an active supporter of the charity, says: "The Sunflower Jam ‘Superjam’ has become an established event for two reasons because: it’s such a great cause and because it’s such huge fun too!"
