New Takamine Models

Takamine released four exciting new models at Frankfurt Musicmesse this month.

First up, two limited edition lookers, both with rather romantic write-ups.


The Yozakura is described as ‘a celebration of the springtime in Japan when the Cherry and Plum blossoms fall from the trees, creating a carpet of petals along the roads and pathways.’ Seductive

The Yokazura’s theme is reflected in it’s Gloss Black finish, blossom inlays and a crescent moon sound hole rosette.

Other specs include Solid Cedar top, Scalloped X top bracing, ebony bridge, solid Sapele back and sides, gold machine heads, bone nut, ebony fretboard with with mop and kimono inlay and white dot markers.

Limited run of only 40 guitars (available only in Europe); £1,919.



The Kunoichi, named after the term given to a female ninja in Japan – ‘The Shogun would send these women to spy on his enemies. They attracted their enemy’s Shogun and tried to gather secret info, or killed them as an assassin. Men are always weak to beautiful ladies, and they were deceived easily.’

Takamine chose the OM shape to mimic a woman’s shape and the headstock and soundhole rosette were ‘designed to be so attractive that no man could resist this beautiful guitar.

Other specs include; Solid Bear Claw Spruce top, Scalloped X top bracing, ebony bridge, bone saddle, solid Sapele back and sides, aged chrome machine heads, bone nut, ebony fretboard with 12th fret star and white dot markers.

Limited run of only 80 guitars (available only in Europe); £2015.



The EF300W (also limited edition) has traditional looks with a fetching flamed black mahogany and sides, solid cedar top and mahogany neck.

Other features include a Herringbone rosette, rosewood bridge, rosewood fretboard with wood dots and white dot side markers. The guitar is finished in Natural Gloss.

Limited run of 200 (available only in Europe); £1115




Lastly, the EG481SCX-FB a variation on their Gloss Black EG481SCX. With a NEXC shape, ‘Flat Black’ finish, Motorcycle Chain’ Rosette and 12th fret Cross inlays, it’s an enticing option.
