Fancy getting your design featured on a custom-built Marshall
amp and help raise money for cancer at the same time? Look no further than Marshal
l's new competition.
Leading amplifier brand Marshall have announced the launch of its annual Movember competition, where budding artists and designers could get their work featured on a custom-built Marshall Amp as part of a campaign to raise awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer.
The competition encourages new creative talent to submit a design, photo or piece of art that sums up Movember, with the one pre-requisite – the design must incorporate the badge of Movember, the moustache. The lucky winner will have their design recreated onto the front of Marshall’s popular C5 combo amp using its unique, Marshall Art technology.
The winning entry from last year was Richard Bowdery, who came up with an awesome adaptation of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel masterpiece, entitled ‘Hand of Mo’. Marshall customised the design creating a finish in Crème Levant vinyl covered in gold piping, finished off with a small gold logo.
Richard Bowdery said of his design: “I was inspired by the Movember competition and have always wanted my own Marshall Amp. I was so ecstatic to have won and was really pleased with the finished result – it was better than I could have ever imagined. I was proud to be involved with such a great cause that is bringing awareness to testicular and prostate cancer.”
In addition to the custom built C5 combo for Mr Bowdery, two more versions were made and presented to two very lucky Planet Rock listeners who entered a competition to win them via the radio station.
Marshall Amps have supported Movember for the past three years and the competition has become a great way to spread the word about men’s health awareness.
