Marshall looked to the forties for their burlesque-inspired C5 Pin-up series of vintage-styled amps
revisit the1940s with the new C5 Custom Pin-Up range
Guitarists who fancy spicing things up on stage should read on…
Here's the info…
Vintage in style, the C5 range is as much a piece of art as a functioning amp. The range showcases a number of Pin-Up models from Hollywood’s golden era in a variety of poses, all beautifully embossed onto the G10F-15 speaker cabinet. Graphic options include burlesque characters Jane, Greta or Betty.
Produced after direct requests from guitarists the world over, the C5 amp has been dubbed the ‘mini Plexi’ because of its impeccable tone and quality. Packing a punch with the valve tone that many guitarists are looking for, the C5 really comes into its own while its small size makes it easy to transport between gigs and shows.
“We wanted to make a limited edition amp unlike anything that we have produced before,” explained Jon Ellery, Managing Director of Marshall.
“The vintage design fitted in nicely with the retro look and feel of the classic Marshall Class 5 amp and we’re excited to be showcasing such a beautifully designed range that, like our other products, has been developed and manufactured in Britain to Marshall’s high standards.”
To finish off this limited edition range is the classic C5 amp itself, which sits neatly on top of the speaker cabinet. Featuring a brown fleck levant and vintage leather handle, it features classic gold piping and a gold Marshall signature.
The C5 is simple to control and features a volume control and a three stage equalisation which means it’s easy to dial in a sound. The 5W of valve power is delivered through an EL84 valve power stage, making this a deceptively loud amp. Inside the Celestion G10 10” speaker is perfectly matched to produce a balanced sound.
