AC/DC – Music For Sharks?

Great White Sharks are feared throughout the oceans of the world as predators, but if current studies are to be believed, it appears they have developed a taste for the music of hard rock veterans AC/DC.

Australian shark cage tour operator, Matt Waller discovered the sharks were fans of the Aussie band – in particular their hit You Shook Me All Night Long – while taking tourists to the Neptune Bay area of Southern Australia.
Waller's interest was sparked by dive operators on Guadalupe Island who experimented with playing music underwater through speakers attached to the shark cages.
Together with his dive company, Adventure Bay Charters, he decided to try it out for himself.
His research discovered that although most of the hits he played underwater had no effect, AC/DC songs caused the Great White sharks to gather around the cages and rub their faces on the speakers.
Waller said, 'We know the AC/DC music works best by trial and error and we are doing more research to see what works best with different species of shark.'
